Master plan

The master plan for Moree Hospital includes a new building on the existing site as the major component, and refurbishment of the existing inpatient building. The new building will house acute services including emergency, imaging, maternity, birthing and the inpatient unit. Community health, outpatients, and administration will be housed in a fully refurbished building.

Refurbishment will include a complete renewal of the existing building to the most current Australasian Health Facility Guideline standards. Each new room will have new floor, wall and ceiling finishes along with services and fit out provision to meet contemporary standards.

There will be one main entry for the public to improve wayfinding, access and security. The Emergency Department will be located near the main entry, and the Ambulance Bay will be separate.

Community pop-ups were held in Moree at the Balo Square Shopping Centre on Tuesday 5 April and Wednesday 6 April. Feedback was also received through briefings with key stakeholders and online. You can view the consultation summary here.  

There will be more opportunities for the community to provide feedback as the design progresses.
