Moree Hospital Redevelopment

Health Infrastructure, in partnership with Hunter New England Health District, is planning to redevelop the Moree Hospital to provide enhanced healthcare facilities to service the Moree community now and into the future.

The project includes upgraded facilities and modern clinical services, and is being led by Health Infrastructure in partnership with Hunter New England Local Health District.

The Moree Hospital will continue to function as a District Hospital and remain networked to Tamworth Hospital for access to specialist services.

The NSW Government has committed $105 million* to redevelop Moree Hospital. The project is part of an extensive body of capital works being delivered across the Hunter New England Local Health District. (*An additional $25 million in funding for the project was announced in the 2024-25 NSW Budget, bringing the Government's total investment in the Moree Hospital Redevelopment to $105 million).

Community Benefits

The redevelopment will offer contemporary facilities to support best practice models of care and provide patients, families and carers a modern facility to meet the health needs of the community now and into the future.

The project received planning approval in January 2025, which is a key step in finalising the planning and design phase.
