GUNNEDAH HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT LOCAL TRADES INFORMATION SESSION

Local trades are encouraged to attend an information session on Tuesday 9 April to learn about opportunities to be involved in construction for the Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment.

Health Infrastructure Executive Director Rural and Regional, Amanda Bock said the Local Workforce Engagement Forum will be hosted by building contractor Richard Crookes Constructions (RCC) for local trades, businesses and suppliers interested in being involved in main works construction for the project.

“The planning and design phase for the Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment is nearing completion and main works construction for the project will be commencing soon,” Ms Bock said.

“The forum will be an opportunity for local trades and suppliers to gain insights from the building contractor and learn about the project and the roles required to support delivery of this significant project for the region.

“The redevelopment will provide a boost to the local economy during construction and we’re encouraging local trades to register their interest and come along.”

The Local Workforce Engagement Forum will be held on Tuesday, 9 April at the Gunnedah Services Club from 5pm – 7pm. Attendees are required to RSVP by Friday, 5 April.

Health Infrastructure is delivering the Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment project in partnership with Hunter New England NSW Local Health District.

The redevelopment project includes construction of a new acute services building, which will house an expanded emergency department and a modern birthing, maternity and inpatient unit. A new main entry and reception will also be created through refurbishment of the former community health entry.

Early works is currently under way on site. Main works construction is expected to be completed in late 2025.
