Giving women a jump start into construction

The redevelopment will not only transform health outcomes across the region but will also provide a significant boost to local jobs and the economy and widen the pool of female talent delivering our future projects.

The Multiplex Jump Start program has a focus on helping more women get jobs in construction and offers a chance to join a team in a range of site walks, mentoring sessions, interactive workshops, panel discussions and more.

To date, there are 26 students involved in the John Hunter 2023 Jump Start program.

Some of them got to hear stories and get tips from other women employed on the redevelopment at an information session we recently held at the Hunter Medical Research Institute.

So far there are 47 women employed (19 percent% of the total workforce, and we’re looking to increase those numbers as the project continues.

Visit the Multiplex website for more information about Jump Start.
