Over the past few months, the Cessnock Hospital project team has continued with planning and design to ensure the project responds to clinical requirements whilst aligning with the available funding.
The project team recently met with some key stakeholders to share more on our progress to date and what they can expect in the new year.
We enjoyed lunch with members and Elders of the local Aboriginal community to celebrate project engagement during 2023.
These community members have been involved with the project design and led a Walk on Country earlier this year. The project team looks forward to learning more from this community as the project progresses.
The team also hosted a sizzling end-of-year BBQ for staff on site. It provided the opportunity to update staff and answer any of their ‘burning’ questions. Many of these staff members have been involved in project user groups, which are made up of clinicians and staff and ensure our facilities are designed in ways that are fit for purpose.
The $111.48 million Cessnock Hospital Redevelopment will deliver a contemporary facility to meet the health care needs of the community, now and into the future.
