The Hon Yasmin Catley, (MP for Swansea and Minister for the Hunter) and the Hon Jodie Harrison (MP for Charlestown and Minister for Women) recently visited the construction site to see the progress made on the largest hospital redevelopment outside metropolitan Sydney.
Both ministers were impressed with how construction is advancing and were interested to learn that women comprise 16% of the workforce on site, highlighting a positive step towards greater gender representation in the industry.
Concrete has been poured for ten of the twelve levels of the new acute services building, that will include four basement level carparks, seven levels of clinical space and two rooftop helipads when complete.
