The cranes are here and have started work on our Acute Services Building, a key feature of the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct. 

We’re asking children who are staying, visiting or attending daycare or school on the John Hunter campus to enter our ‘Colour the cranes’ competition. They can not only colour the cranes but also our beautiful native wildlife, our construction workers - everything!  Download your colouring sheet.

Entries are open till Friday 17 March 2023 5pm AEDT and can be dropped in at the Starlight Room, Level 2, John Hunter Children’s Hospital.  

A $50 art voucher is up for grabs in four age categories: 1 to 3 years, 4 to 6 years, 7 to 9 years and 10 to 12 years.

Terms and conditions 

The promoter is Health Infrastructure (ABN 89 600 377 397), 1 Reserve Road St Leonards NSW 2065 Australia. 

Entry is open to individuals aged 1-12 years old. 

Each entry must be made in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Entries not submitted in accordance with the Terms and Conditions may be deemed ineligible. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these Terms and Conditions.  

Entrants may submit multiple entries to the competition but are only eligible for one prize. Entries will be judged on creativity and artistic flair. Entries should be placed inside the dedicated entry boxes inside the John Hunter and John Hunter Children’s hospitals.  

The competition period commences on 14 February 2023 at 9am AEDT and runs until 15 March 2023 at 5pm AEDT. Any entry received by the promoter before or after the competition period may be ineligible for entry and no responsibility will be accepted for lost, late or misdirected submissions. 

The promoter may at its absolute discretion remove or reject any entry for any reason whatsoever, including if it is offensive or discriminatory. 

Each entrant warrants that its entry does not breach the copyright or other intellectual property rights or privacy rights of any other person. 

One art voucher valued at $50 AUD will be awarded to the winner of each of these age groups: 

  • 1-3 years  

  • 4-6 years  

  • 7-9 years 

  • 10-12 years  

There are four prizes on offer in total at a value of $200 AUD.  

The competition will be run within the John Hunter Hospital campus.  

The entries will be judged by a panel comprising representatives from the John Hunter Children’s Hospital, John Hunter Hospital executive team and volunteer network plus the arts and Aboriginal community. The entries will be judged on three criteria: accuracy, quality, and creativity. In the case of a tie, a panel consisting of three members will judge the tied responses to determine the winner based on the criteria.  

The winner’s parent or guardian will be notified within two weeks of the competition’s closing date. Collection of the prize will be arranged with the parent or guardian of the prize winner. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash. A prize will be deemed to be unclaimed if we have been unable to contact the prize winner via the nominated contact phone number for seven calendar days. Where a prize is deemed unclaimed, the prize will be reassigned through a second judging. 

If there are any unclaimed prizes a second judging will be conducted within two weeks following the same criteria at the same place as the original judging. The new winner will be contacted via the nominated phone number within seven business days. 

If the Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the control of Health Infrastructure, including as a result of technical failures, Health Infrastructure reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law to modify, postpone, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition as appropriate. 

Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded including any statutory consumer guarantees, Health Infrastructure, and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses, or loss whatsoever (whether direct or consequential) to any persons or property as a result of any person entering the Competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation, failure of any winner to contact the promoter, non-receipt of any prize or damage to any prize in transit. 

Health Infrastructure is collecting each entrants’ personal information for the purposes of conducting and promoting this Competition as described in these Terms and Conditions.
