A new hospital and clinical services building headlines the $80 million Moree District Hospital redevelopment draft masterplan, which was unveiled by Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall today.

Mr Marshall said the Moree community was being invited to have its say on the masterplan for the redevelopment, which has been designed to meet the healthcare needs of the local community now and well into the future.

“Moree residents have been given their first look at the vision for the $80 million redevelopment, which will deliver nurses, doctors, allied health staff and the local community with upgraded clinical facilities, services and health infrastructure,” Mr Marshall said.

“The masterplan includes a new clinical services building within the existing hospital site to house services including an emergency department, imaging, operating theatres, birthing suites and an inpatient unit.

“Community and ambulatory care services will be located within a fully refurbished building and Aboriginal Health services will be co-located onsite to provide integrated service benefits for patients and staff.

“This is one of the largest investments in Moree’s public health facilities and significant planning has been carried out to ensure the redevelopment will support contemporary models of care that focus on improving the health outcomes of the Moree community for decades to come.”

Community pop-up sessions will be held at the Balo Square Shopping Centre in Moree on Tuesday, 5 April between 4-6pm and Wednesday, 6 April between 12-2pm, where community members can drop in at any time to view the master plan and ask the project team questions.

Work on site is expected to commence late this year, once project planning and design is complete and statutory planning approvals have been achieved.

The Moree Hospital Redevelopment is being delivered in partnership with Health Infrastructure and Hunter New England Local Health District.
